Roland Howard is the sustainable energy division manager at Hunt Electric. He has worked in the energy management field for more than 16 years and has played a leadership role in the industry since his career began. Roland has overseen diverse, sustainable energy projects during his career, including wind, hydroelectric, biomass, geothermal, and solar. In his time with the US Department of Defense, Roland lead five different programs providing oversight, implementation, and installation for day-to-day operations and new construction for a military facility that occupies more than 44,000 acres of land and operates 1,500 buildings.
At Hunt Electric, his approach to leading teams is to empower individuals. Teaching and educating team members and giving them the ability to make decisions helps them increase their confidence and expand their abilities. Roland has built a highly knowledgeable team by enabling its members to grow and fulfill their potential.
Roland’s vision for his team at Hunt Electric is to find new solutions that improve existing technologies and increase energy efficiency. He leverages relationships with clients and developers to stay up to date with emerging technologies and to find new ways to harness sustainable energy.
Roland holds a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, and he has been certified by the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) as a renewable and energy efficiency professional. Beginning his career as an electrician and lineman gave Roland valuable hands-on experience about how energy systems work.
